[Greek] Dissertationum philologicarum
No prior complete English translation of this text has been found.
Christoph Besold was a 17th-century German jurist and scholar whose works were primarily written in Latin for an academic audience. No English translations of his 'Dissertationes philologicae' (1620) were found in any of the searched catalogs (UNESCO Index Translationum, Open Library, etc.). Given the specialized and miscellaneous nature of early modern academic dissertations, it is highly improbable that a complete English translation exists.

Explore a daring 17th-century intellectual cross-over that bridges the gap between Hermetic mysticism and the fiery origins of political resistance. Christoph Besold challenges the 'divine right' of kings, arguing that absolute power is often a mask for tyranny, while tracing the history of trial by ordeal and the world-changing inventions of typography and cannons.
