Liber [Hebrew: more nevuchim] doctor perplexorum
No prior complete English translation of this text has been found.
The 1629 Latin edition of Maimonides' 'Guide for the Perplexed' is the 'Doctor Perplexorum' translated by Johannes Buxtorf the Younger. While the work itself is famous and has been translated into English from the original Arabic (e.g., by Pines) and Hebrew (e.g., by Friedländer), there is no English translation of Buxtorf's specific Latin rendering, which was a foundational text for 17th-century Christian Hebraism.
